Location Description:
The open grasslands support over 140 plant species, including common knapweed, wild carrot, poppies and fumitory. These areas provide a great feeding site for various butterfly species. The trees and shrubs support other bird life such as willow warblers, dunnocks, fieldfares and woodpeckers. Kestrels have been seen hovering above to catch their prey. This site has a Geological SSSI of undisturbed March gravels from the Pleistocene era.
