Today, Leader Councillor Keith Mercer opened the new £6.6 million Worthing Seafront Travelodge on Marine Parade, Worthing. The 90-room hotel has created 20 jobs in the area and will offer rooms from as little as £19 per night.

The 20-strong hotel team will be led by local hotel manager, Justin Burton who joined Travelodge in January after a 20 year career in retail management. Justin previously worked for GAP clothing and The Early Learning Centre before joining the fastest growing budget hotel chain.

Justin Burton said: "I am very proud to be given chance to run Worthing Seafront Travelodge. In todays current climate, more people are switching to budget accommodation and there is a great need for low cost accommodation in Worthing. With rooms from as little as £19, my team and I are looking to forward to make staying in Worthing more accessible".

Leader of Worthing Council, Councillor Keith Mercer said: "The opening of Worthing Seafront Travelodge is warmly welcomed by Worthing Borough Council and comes at a time when extensive regeneration of the seafront is a major priority. Tourism and business are vitally important to our local economy and so I am particularly delighted that Travelodge are investing in our Town".

To celebrate the official opening of Worthing Seafront Travelodge a champagne reception was held in the hotel for local businesses and local Councillors from Worthing Borough Council.

All rooms include a digital flat screen TV with 18 free digital channels, free tea and coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi. The hotel also has a Bar Cafe offering an 'all you can eat breakfast' for £7.50 and under 15's eat free. Visit www.travelodge.co.uk to book a £19 room.
