We have a dedicated Estate Management team in place, to oversee all estate matters across our portfolio of UK hotels. 

Over the past year, a key investment in the Property and Development function of the Travelodge business has been expanding the Estates team, due to the company’s growing hotel portfolio. The team is dedicated to supporting the hotels and the wider business with general estate matters and is also responsible for rent reviews, service charges, business rates, sublets, insurance, asset management, lease renewals and landlord approvals. 

This team is led by Kirsty Berry, who we promoted to UK Head of Estates at the start of this year. 

Kirsty joined Travelodge in 2022 as Regional Estates Manager and has been an integral member of the UK Estates team since. Her background consists of a vast range of property experience with a number of multi-site businesses including Domino’s UK and Majestic Wines.

Members of the Estates team are field-based so that they can make regular hotel visits, allowing full access to the Travelodge hotel portfolio and to support landlords.

The team is made up of three Regional Estate Managers, along with a support team. 

Maqsood Begum is Regional Estates Manager and joined Travelodge in 2022, after working in Savills within the Property and Asset Management team, on a variety of portfolios including supporting the Travelodge estate. Other key clients in Maqsood’s previous role include Kames Capital, Morrisons and Global Mutual.

Nick Wyatt joined Travelodge in January 2024 as Regional Estates Manager and has been involved in the property industry since 2007 following a Masters in Estate Management.  He became chartered (MRICS) at Network Rail and has since been at Amey Consulting and Reigate and Banstead Council.  Nick’s experience is within Asset Management and has been involved within the Retail spectrum of property for most of his career.   

Caroline Hurwood joined Travelodge in April this year as interim Regional Estates Manager for the North. She is a chartered surveyor, working for Knight Frank, PwC and latterly Lloyds Banking Group specialising in strategic portfolio, estate and asset management.
