23rd March 2007

Today, England Football legend Kerry Dixon and local school boy, Mohammed Ibraheem officially re-opened Luton Travelodge. The 106-room hotel, previously managed by Regent Hotels, has undergone a six-month, £2.2 million refurbishment and created 30 new jobs.

Situated at 641 Dunstable Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU4 8RQ the new Travelodge will offer rooms from £15* per night.

To celebrate the official re-opening of Luton Travelodge, fifty pupils from Beechwood Primary School were set a project of drawing their "Dream bedroom". Local sporting hero and ex England striker, Kerry Dixon selected the winning picture, drawn by Mohammed Ibraheem aged 8 years.

In addition to re-opening the hotel, Mohammed also won a weekend stay at a UK Travelodge hotel of his choice for his family and his picture will be hung in the hotel reception area. All pupils were awarded a goodie bag.

Sally Thornley, Luton Travelodge's Manager, said: "There is a desperate need for low-cost accommodation within Luton and our new Travelodge hotel will help to fill this demand. We are situated on Dunstable Road which is an ideal location for business and leisure travellers who need quick and easy access to the airport and Luton's surrounding areas. Local residents can also benefit by accommodating family and friends at the hotel to avoid the additional stress at home. We offer a comfortable room from as little as £15, which is the smart choice for any type of stop-over".

Luton Travelodge will offer a choice of either Family, Double or Disabled rooms. Each room provides a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king size bed, colour TV and free tea and coffee making facilities.
