Today, one of the UK’s largest budget hotel chains, Travelodge, has officially opened its first hotel in Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea. The new hotel represents an investment of £6 million for the landlord and has created 25 new jobs within the community.
Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea Travelodge, a 75-room hotel with an onsite restaurant called the ‘Bar Café and a car-park is the company’s 570th hotel and its 14th property in Somerset. It is located at Isleport Business Park, ideal for business and leisure travellers visiting the area. Rooms are available from £29 and can be booked at www.travelodge.co.uk.
The hotel was officially opened today by Gary Steele, Travelodge, South West Regional Director and David Neale, Travelodge District Manager Somerset, Devon & Cornwall.
Highbridge Burnham-on-Sea Travelodge has been styled in the company’s latest contemporary brand design and offers family, double and accessible rooms. All rooms feature the company’s signature luxurious king size bed called the Travelodge Dreamer bed which sits within a mood lighting surround with bedside USP ports and spacious shelves for charging devices. In addition family rooms include two individual beds for children.
To help ensure guests attain a good night sleep, all rooms feature the following:
· A sleep inducing décor colour palette to create a warm and cosy ambiance
· LED ceiling lighting which provides a softer look and feel to the room
· A Comfort Cooling system enabling guests to personalise their ideal room temperature
· Soundproof Italian acoustic doors to stop outside nose coming in
In addition all rooms have a 32 inch Freeview TV, complementary tea & coffee making facilities and Wifi.

Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea Travelodge is being managed by Yenny Rodriguez who joined Travelodge as a Bar Café Team Member in 2013. Yenny is one of hundreds of Travelodge employees who started with the company via an entry level position and has successfully climbed the career ladder into management.
Yenny’s hard work, dedication and passion to succeed, enabled her to qualify for a place on Travelodge’s in-house management development within a year of joining the company. After graduating from the programme she was appointed to Assistant Hotel Manager at Bournemouth Travelodge and then went onto manage the following hotels: Poole Travelodge and Taunton Travelodge.

The hotel’s Bar Café offers an extensive breakfast, dinner and bar menu. Travelodge’s ‘Unlimited’ breakfast menu is just £8.95 per person and for each paying guest two children eat for free.
Highbridge Burnham-on-Sea Travelodge is one of 11 hotels the budget hotel chain is opening in the lead up to Christmas. This expansion, collectively represents an investment of £79 million for third party investors, will create 260 new jobs across the country
