Things to do in Barlborough
A charming ancient village with many listed buildings to explore, Barlborough is a lovely place to spend time. Discover 1000 years of local history at the Barlborough Heritage and Resource Centre, or explore the village cross and St James the Greater church, both dating back to Norman times.
Animal attractions
Enjoy animal encounters galore at the Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield - from the butterflies overhead, to Meerkat Mansion, to handling a bird of prey. There's also an outdoor adventure play area and an indoor activity centre, so there's plenty to keep you entertained, whatever the weather. Explore the beautiful Derbyshire countryside on horseback at Derbyshire Pony Trekking; look out for buzzards and herons flying overhead while trekking around the nature reserve.
