We proudly reside in over 580 hotels across the UK. Within these hotels, our guests have access to over 45000 rooms of which 2300 are accessible rooms.
Since 2022, we have worked with Disability Positive to help us improve our customer experience and review our propositions. We understand that 1 in 5 people are considered disabled in line with the Equality Act 2010 definition and they face societal barriers to an accessible and inclusive environment. We have been investing in our commitment to improving our facilities and services over the past few years to make these more accessible to all.
We do recognise that our hotels are all shapes, layouts and sizes and there is no single hotel that will meet the needs of all individuals. Our website is the best place to see the different room types we have available at each hotel. However, if you are unsure or require more information, please contact us.
In the unlikely event of an emergency evacuation, we have facilities at each hotel to support guests that require additional assistance. We have emergency evacuation chairs and operate a PEEPS procedure. If you require assistance, please contact the hotel prior to your stay and advise the team.
For all our hotels we provide directional information on our website. Whether it be the best Satnav postcode or local transport directions, these are available on the individual hotel webpage. Alternatively, please contact the hotel directly if you are unsure how to find your accommodation or need more information about parking. Some of our car parks may have a height restriction, if you have a hi-top vehicle please contact the hotel to confirm any restrictions.
When you arrive, the majority of our hotels have a drop-off point and level access to the reception. When this is not possible, alternative access arrangements have been made via platform lifts.
Where the hotel has its own car park, there are a number of designated accessible parking bays which are generally located close to the main entrance. However, when the hotel has limited or no parking, please check the hotel pages or contact the hotel directly for the location of the nearest public and accessible parking provision.
All of our hotels have a door entry buzzer system at the main entrance, which allows guests to request a member of the Travelodge team to the front door.
We want to provide a relaxing and enjoyable experience; if you would like to know the quieter times to check-in please contact the hotel for a rough estimate; this cannot be guaranteed as it depends on the day.
Each hotel has a portable hearing loop which can be used at the reception desk or bar (where applicable). If you have requested assistance during an emergency, please inform the reception team when checking in.
Our team is generally available 24 hours a day, if there is not a member of the team at the reception desk at any point during your stay, there will be a sign with a telephone number to contact them.
In our newly-built hotels, we have a lower, purpose-built accessible reception area. Where we do not have a low-level position at our reception desk, our staff will happily facilitate check-in at a table in the reception lobby or bar café areas the majority of which have a seating area.

In our hotels with accessible bedrooms, level access is generally available to all public areas of our hotels and we have added ramps where possible. If this was not possible we have made access possible through the use of platform lifts.
For reasons of fire safety, the corridors of our hotels are subdivided at regular intervals by self-closing, fire-resisting doors.
All our hotels include well-contrasted signage to direct you to key facilities such as reception, bar café and your bedroom. In our new hotels, we have updated these to be more visual and have included icons on the signs.
Our accessible toilets are typically set out in a corner layout with a basin set within reach of the WC toilet and grab rails fitted around both basin and toilet. Pull cord alarms are fitted to all cubicles.

Over 210 of our hotels have an integral Bar Café. Where we do not have a low-level position, our bar staff are happy to offer table service upon request. All sites have a portable hearing loop which can be used at the bar upon request.
Our Bar Cafés have choice and flexibility for our guests. We offer large print and pictorial menus, in addition to televisions that display subtitles and a wide range of seating and tables. Our Bar Cafés are all different and these can be busy or quiet depending on the time of use, hotel’s location and time of year. Speak to our reception team when you arrive to find out the quietest time to eat or drink.

Our standard bedrooms are either set up as a king, twin or family room. If you would like to know specific details about the rooms available at any of our sites search for a room on a specific date at the site you want. All bedrooms are provided with a desk and a chair. Where space permits an additional chair is also provided. If, during your stay, you would like the bedroom furniture rearranged or an item of furniture removed or provided, please contact reception and we will do our utmost to assist.
Televisions in our bedrooms are provided with a remote control and they have the facility to display subtitles.
In the event of an emergency, fire evacuation procedures are displayed on the back of the bedroom doors and we have vibrating pillows available if you require them. Guests are reminded to inform reception if they would need any assistance in the event of a fire evacuation.

All of our hotels are different due to the age and design of the building, where possible our accessible rooms are located close to a lift or reception. Please contact the individual hotel to confirm where the room location and the functions and facilities that are available.
All our bedrooms have en-suite bath or shower rooms. For more details on what is in our en-suites, see the en-suite section below.
Our accessible bedrooms are fitted with wider doors and incorporate additional space in comparison to standard bedrooms and include an extended clear zone to one side of the bed.
Accessible bedrooms are fitted with zip and link beds with a mattress height of around 480mm to correspond with the average height of a wheelchair seat with clear space beneath the bed of around 150mm in depth. When booking please select if you would prefer two singles or a King as a zip and link bed can convert to either.
All bedrooms are provided with a desk and chair. Where space permits an additional chair is also provided. If, during your stay, you would like the bedroom furniture rearranged or an item of furniture removed or provided, please contact reception and we will do our utmost to assist.
Entrance doors are fitted with spyhole door viewers at high and low levels.
An emergency assistance alarm is fitted to the bedhead. These incorporate push button or removable pull cord operation. If you require a pull cord, please contact the hotel in advance or confirm upon check-in.
Hanging units are set at a lower level with clear space beneath.

Where sites have lifts, refuge areas are designated on the upper floors. These are protected areas of relative safety where we ask guests who cannot manage stairs to wait in the event of a fire for assistance. Refuges are fitted with intercoms or an alternative arrangement will be in place, to allow you to communicate with staff in an emergency. Hotels with refuges have evacuation chairs to assist with evacuation using the stairs.

Our standard en-suites will vary depending on the hotel and the room type selected. There will either be a bath or shower tray. Please check the room description when booking using the ‘find out more’ link next to the room photo to check which variant you are booking or contact the hotel in advance.
All our en-suites have lever taps to the basin. If the room has an en-suite shower room, there is a small step to enter the shower and the height of this will vary in each property.
Hot water is thermostatically controlled in all of our en-suites.

All our accessible bedrooms have an en-suite shower or bathroom with wide entry doors and extended manoeuvring space in comparison to our standard rooms. The majority of our en-suites incorporate a level access shower room.
Our level access shower rooms incorporate a WC and basin set out in a corner layout with grab rails to both pan and basin. The shower areas are fitted with a drop-down shower seat with grab rails and an adjustable height shower head.
The minority of our older properties incorporate en-suite bathrooms.
En-suite bathrooms incorporate grab rails to the bath, toilet and basin areas. The baths are typically set at a lower level around the height of the average wheelchair seat. There is no space underneath the baths for a hoist.
Going forward all of our new build hotels will be fitted with wet rooms only as standard.
All taps, bath fillers and shower valves are fitted with lever controls.
En-suite floors are made of a non-slip material.
All accessible en-suites are fitted with an emergency assistance pull cord alarm.
Hot water is thermostatically controlled in all of our en-suites.

Things are a little different at St. Albans City Centre. Our StaySmart experience is all about giving you a fast & smooth stay; so you can get on with the things you’re coming here to do.
There’s no reception to wait around at. With our handy StaySmart app, you can check in on the go any time from 3pm to get your room number and digital key sorted beforehand and head straight to your room when you arrive. When you’re ready to go, you just check out with a tap.
If you need to speak to the team anytime, you can do that too by voice, video or chat – all from the app, from wherever you are.
If you don’t have, or can’t use a smartphone, you can check in, get a physical keycard or talk to someone by voice or video; all from our smart kiosks in the hotel lobby. The kiosks are set at an accessible height whether you’re standing or using a wheelchair.
